Test Technician

Ener-Core is an early stage company and a recognized leader in green power generation from waste gas, has an immediate need for a “hands-on” Mechanical Test Technician with experience building test set ups, equipment rebuilds, troubleshooting and maintenance. As a key member of our engineering team, the successful candidate will be an important contributor to the development of our products.

Candidate must have at least eight years experience working on rotating equipment, reciprocating engines, rigging, piping, and troubleshooting. This candidate will have direct experience working through the engineering development and test process building hardware, instrumenting hardware, collecting data and performing maintenance. You will be part of a small, dynamic, and creative company poised for rapid growth.

This position requires travel to the company’s fabrication/test site and installation sites. Total travel time is estimated to be 15%.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with engineers creating engine test set-ups, instrumenting and building engines.
• Responsible for maintaining logsheets during the powerplant build process.
• Travel to powerplant sites to build powerplants, collect data and perform sight maintenance and inspections.
• Ship and receive packages and also arrange freight shipments.
• Responsible for performing equipment maintenance.
• Perform light machining and sheet metal fabrication as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of eight years maintaining, rebuilding or testing equipment.
• Must have the ability to work with drill press, die grinders, and sheet metal tools.
• Experience performing maintenance on gas turbines or reciprocating engines is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting instrumentation (pressure, temperature, and flow sensors).
• Experience with rigging techniques is a plus.
• Understanding and experience working with 480V 3phase power is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot low voltage test equipment sensors is a plus.
• Forklift or heavy equipment license is a plus.
• Candidate must have computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently and with a team
